Most of you probably already know that our resident island “celebrity” pro boxer, Sal “Rocky” Cenicola made a successful return to the ring in Fernandina Beach, FL on April 13 with a four-round unanimous decision victory over Nate Petty after 25 years of retirement. He is now not only in the New Jersey Boxing Hall of Fame, but in the Guinness Book of World Records. But Sal doesn’t only want to be known for a world-class, world record comeback, he wants his restaurant to be known for its world-class authentic Italian cuisine and pizza, as well as a world-class dining experience.
At Sal’s Neighborhood Pizzeria and Italian Ristorante, located at 3415 Frederica Rd. on St. Simons Island, Sal continues three generations of family tradition by passing their treasured recipes down to a fourth generation. He uses only the finest ingredients, importing some from Italy, New Jersey and New York. Sal and his staff cook with love and expect the quality of their dishes to always be something of which they can be proud.
