From January 1 through February 28, Jekyll Island has “Beach Buddies” who hide plastic globes in various locations across the island for lucky visitors to find and exchange for beautiful handworked glass globes commissioned by skilled artisans. Read more

The newly opened Wanderer Memory Trail is the second memorial to be placed on the south end of Jekyll Island in tribute to the enslaved passengers of the Wanderer, the last known slave ship to land in Georgia. Guided tours available in February. Read more
