Casual Comfort
The bulky, square, wood coffee table, while utilitarian, took up a lot of space in the room.5 of 12

Marshside Appeal
A smaller, circular table with an open base immediately created the look of additional space, and the stone top balanced out the browns of the wood floors and furniture, visually lightening it.6 of 12

The Transformation
The transformation: a bright, airy, cheery, and inviting space with natural elements, such as oyster shell lamps, pottery, baskets, driftwood, and a turtle shell to add interest.Using furniture and home decor items from Low Country Walk, Petite Maison, Seaside Home, as well as her own inventory from Mary-Bryan Peyer Designs, Mary-Bryan, Marla Melnyk and Laurie Watson (and the heavy-lifting skills of Jessie Merrill) were able to create a cozy and inviting space with bright spots of color and interesting natural touches. Plants from Ace Garden Center and The Vine brought in more life and color. A new table, decorative pillows and a coordinating rug really changed the entire feel of the room. It's amazing what can be done in just a day!
