2nd Annual Jekyll BBQ Beach Bash
This event is a Georgia Barbecue Association sanctioned contest. The Georgia Barbecue Association is the official governing body that oversees BBQ contests. An estimated 30-40 professional cook teams will likely compete in this year's events. Some of the pit-masters of these teams are popular and have been in publications or on TV. The local community will get a chance to partake in world class BBQ that they might not otherwise get to sample. Last year's event drew attendance of about 12,000; with Southern Pigskin/ ESPN Radio and Bud Light as the title sponsor this year it is looking to be a much much larger turn out. Get there early to ensure you get to try all the BBQ you want!
Friday night: 50/50 raffle, live music by Chris Yates 7pm and Roy Gentry & the Hired Guns at 9pm, crafts and games for the kids. Come out and meet the contenders for this years BBQ Championship. The fun begins at 5pm.
Saturday: Get your tickets to sample the best BBQ in GA, then vote for your favorite with the "People's Choice Award".
