8th Annual Tabby & Tillandsia Garden Walk

“Garden Discoveries”, a concluding event in the statewide “Garden Week in Georgia”.
Tour of six diverse and innovative private gardens on Saint Simons Island, the Colonial Herb Garden at Ft. Frederica, and Cassina’s slave cabin gardens, highlighting plants particularly good for use in arrangements, a how-to table in each garden, a “discovery hunt” through each garden (prize drawings at the end), concluding with a flower arranging demonstration, artists, and more at a Southern hospitality afternoon garden party, 2-5 pm, at the Historic Hamilton Plantation tabby slave cabins on Gascoigne Bluff. All gardens are on St. Simons Island and accessible by car. Proceeds of the tour are used for the preservation of the Hamilton Plantation tabby slave cabins.
Time: Saturday, April 26: Tour 10-5 pm / Garden Party 2-5pm
(Rain date, Sunday, April 27: noon-6 pm)
Tickets: $30 in advance; $35 day of the event. Group advance tickets for ten or more receive a 10% discount. Tickets will go on sale locally after March 28, 2014 at the following selected sites on St. Simons Island: ACE Garden Center, GJ Ford Bookshop, and St. Simons Drug. In Brunswick at Hattie’s Books and Pat’s Hallmark, Glynn Mall. Tickets may also be ordered on line.
