Civil War Cameos

Civil War Cameos is an evening of home-front tales, from varying perspectives based on the works of three prize-winning authors. Barbara Bates Smith brings to life Lee Smith’s plucky young girl orphaned by the Civil War in On Agate Hill, Ron Rash’s brave young “Lincolnite” wife under threat in Confederate territory, and Allan Gurganus’s Oldest Living Confederate Widow… telling not all, but a few carefully selected pearls from her repertoire. Accompanied by Jeff Sebens’ idyllic dulcimer, this one woman show will pull you in with the stories of three remarkable characters and their accounts of the Civil War.
