On November 8, Helping Hugs for Haiti sponsors its 2nd annual dinner to benefit the Education
Center at St. William’s twin parish in Haiti. Chef Matthew Raiford and his Culinary Arts students from the College of Coastal Georgia will prepare the sit-down dinner that takes place at 6:30 p.m. in the St. William Parish Hall. There will be music by Michael Hulett, and a live auction called by Southeast Champion Auctioneer, Myers Jackson. RNs Diane Smith and Sharron Olson will report on their recent trip to Haiti. Since the 2009 earthquake, Haitians have been working to restore their church and adjacent buildings. The Education Center will house classrooms, overnight lodging for chapel directors and missionaries, and a rectory for the parish priest. The first story was completed as a result of last year’s efforts. This year they hope to raise sufficient funds to complete the second story. For tickets, call Robin Sue Jacques at 912.634.1565.
