Platinum-selling and 2014 Grammy Country Single of the Year winner Darius Rucker will perform in the Golden Isles this October as part of The McGladrey Classic, an Official PGA TOUR FedExCup Event hosted by Davis Love III.  Rucker will entertain fans with a concert Wednesday evening, October 22 “Live Under the Oaks” at Sea Island Golf Club.

Rucker, a South Carolina native, is a music industry veteran and an avid golf fan.  He first attained multi-platinum status as lead singer for Hootie and the Blowfish.  Now, in addition to maintaining his lead singer role, Rucker is a country solo superstar.    

This will be his second performance sponsored by Southeast Georgia Health System in conjunction with The McGladrey Classic.  Rucker performed the very first concert in connection with the tournament in 2011. 

Darius is a great performer and has been a major supporter of the PGA TOUR and its charities,” said Tournament Director Scott Reid.  “It’s an incredible opportunity to bring him back to the Golden Isles for this special concert which will not only entertain fans but most importantly help us raise money for Special Olympics, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Southeast Georgia and other charities that benefit children and their families.”   

Tickets to The McGladrey Classic, including the Wednesday concert, will be on sale May 12,
