Cannons Point Trail
The St. Simons Land Trust is celebrating National Trails Day at Cannon’s Point this Saturday, June 7. Cannon’s Point Preserve will be open to the public from 7am – 3pm for self-guided exploration. All visitors should bring water, bug spray and snacks and wear long sleeves and pants and closed toed shoes. No pets allowed. A portable restroom is available in the parking area. Additional restrooms are located at Frederica Park, one mile south on Lawrence Road.

7:15 am - Birding walk
Taylor’s Fish Camp to north end (2.26 miles one way)
9:00 am - Bike tour - Beginners welcome
Taylor’s Fish Camp to Couper Plantation Ruins site at north end
(5 miles round trip, technical trail riding, bring your own bike; 5 spaces available)
9:00 am - Ecology Hike
Taylor’s Fish Camp for an ecology hike along the trail to the north end and back. (5 miles round trip; 12 spaces available).
9:30 am - Tour of Southern Area
Taylor’s Fish Camp - Learn about wildlife, the Live Oak rotunda, and history.
11:00 pm - Bike tour - Intermediate
Taylor’s Fish Camp to Couper Plantation Ruins site at north end.
