The St. Simons Land Trust’s Pennies for Preservation program has officially surpassed $1 MILLION in contributions for land preservation on St. Simons!
Since the program's inception in 2017, nearly 50 local businesses have come together to help protect 80+ ACRES of environmentally and culturally significant land across the island. Whether raising funds by collecting a voluntary 1% donation or dollar amount on customers' receipts, donating 1% of their proceeds, or offering in-kind and discounted services to the Land Trust, these donated pennies have added up to more than $1,000,000! THANK YOU to all Pennies for Preservation partners, their countless patrons and clients, and the entire Golden Isles community for helping to sustain a culture of conservation on St. Simons!
To celebrate this tremendous success, everyone is invited to join the St. Simons Land Trust at Old Stables Corner on SSI between 1-3pm for the PENNIES FOR PRESERVATION COMMUNITY CELEBRATION. This family-friendly pop-in event will feature music, live animals from Sea Island Nature, popcorn, drinks, frozen treats, yard games, photo booth & more.
