An entertaining and insightful look at the 19th century English actress and wife of plantation owner Pierce Butler whose eyewitness account of her time in south coastal Georgia, Journal of a Residence on a Georgia Plantation, was an important anti-slavery document that helped transform a way of life, even at great personal cost to herself.
