Silver pen scholarship
Marsh’s Edge will award three local high school seniors cash prizes up to $2,500 to assist with their post-graduate plans through The Silver Pen Writing Competition. This year’s submissions are based on the topic of global warming. Senior Living Communities, the parent company of the St. Simons Island senior living community, established the competition in 2012 as a way to bridge the communication gap between high school seniors and senior citizens. Since the program began, more than $386,000 has been awarded to assist students for college and trade school expenses. Submissions are being accepted now through February 11. Award recipients will be announced in Spring 2022. For details and essay submission, visit silverpen-slc.com.
