Nellie - HSSCG August Pet of the Month
Nellie is HSSCG's featured pet for the month of August. About a year and a half old, she's come a long way since she first walked through the doors of HSSCG four months ago. Spotted by a passerby next to a dumpster, Nellie was watching over four puppies--that were not hers! Whether dropped off by the same person, or if these puppies were dropped off and Nellie found them will never be known. All five were brought to the Humane Society, bathed, fed, treated for any minor scrapes, given full vaccinations, microchipped, spayed or neutered, and made available for adoption. The puppies Nellie looked after have all since been adopted, while Nellie patiently waits for her furever family to find her.
Initially shy after she was rescued, Nellie has blossomed during her time at HSSCG. She looks forward to meeting new people, is adored by the volunteers, and even likes hanging out with the cats! A lapdog at heart, she loves to love and be loved. And the staff says they can't even describe how cute she is when she's given a toy! It's truly something you should see for yourself.
