Halloween
Oooooooh spoooooky! From haunted hayrides to ghost walks and costume parties, the Golden Isles loves to celebrate Halloween! Here's a quick look at what's going on during the week of tricks and treats.
First, make sure to get your pumpkins! The St. Simons United Methodist Church Pumpkin Patch is open for business through Halloween, October 31. They always have a great selection of pumpkins in every size and shape, from big to small, whether you are carving or painting or just using for decoration. Hours are Monday-Friday - 1-8pm; Saturday 9am-9pm, and Sunday noon-7pm.
I-95 Toyota & Scion and the Marty Lyons Foundation present the Screams 4 Dreams Haunted Forest next to I-95 Toyota October 29-31 from 7:30pm to close. Admission $7 for adults and $5 for children under 13. Your fears, frights and phobias are brought to life in this seasonal spook-fest that benefits a great cause.
You can enjoy A Hayride Through the Haunted Forest at Weber's Christmas Tree Farm after dark any night from October 24-31. Tickets $8 for adults, $6 for children under 12. (No ticket sales after 9pm.) For directions, call 912-437-4518 or 912-266-4546.
The Glynn Place Mall has the Halloween Spooktacular on Thursday, October 31. From 5:30-8:30pm there will be games and arts & crafts in the mall's center court. At 6pm, there's a children's costume contest with prizes on the stage in front of the Belk Home Store. At 6:45pm, it's time to show off your prized pooches in their best at the pet costume contest (on the stage in front of JC Penney). There will also be a photo booth, a bounce house and giant slide, and trick or treating all night with mall merchants. Event is free and open to the public.
On Halloween Night, bring the kids in their costumes by Tipsy McSway's early 5-7 for contests and fun. Then later, it's a full-on Halloween Bash and costume party for adults. Costume parties for grown-ups also being held at Bennie's Red Barn and The Doghouse Sports Bar & Grill in Brunswick. Check out their Facebook pages for more details.
The Friends of The Island Players host "An Evening in Spamalot" Medieval Costume party at the St. Simons Casino Theatre on Halloween night, preceding the showing of "Spamalot." Entertainment, games, finger foods, costume contest, knighting ceremony. $10/person. (Show tickets $20 at the box office.)

Historic Brunswick Ghost Adventures hosts its annual Halloween Spook-tactular Party on Halloween from 8pm-midnight with a special ghost adventure tour and costume party with refreshments. $15 per person. Advance reservations required. See their Facebook page for details or call 912-580-9920.
