Golden Isles Arts & Humanities will present Summer Classic Movies at The Ritz in Historic Downtown Brunswick every Thursday in July. The series kicks off on July 2, with Yankee Doodle Dandy, starring James Cagney as renowned musical composer, playwright, actor, dancer and singer George M. Cohan. Ghostbusters, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, and Close Encounters of the Third Kind follow on July 9, 16, and 23. On July 30, attendees are invited to wear their favorite costumes inspired by Rodgers & Hammerstein’s cinematic treasure The Sound of Music for a sing-along celebration of the 50th anniversary of its release. Free popcorn (first come, first served) is provided by MTR Real Estate. These fun evenings also include door prizes, and dining and drink specials at local businesses.
Admission is only $5 for all ages. The box office opens at 5:00 p.m.
Cartoons and shorts begin at 6:30 p.m. and film following at 7:00 p.m.
