Victory Gala
Get ready for some BIG fun! The American Cancer Society (ACS) VICTORY Board will be wowing the guests at their annual gala with “Under the Boardwalk - A Whimsical Fete.” Saturday, September 14 promises to be a magical evening with special entertainment that will have attendees at the Sea Island Beach Club gasping with child-like delight. Chairs Julie Beimler, Carla Cate, Julie Lovein, Joanna Thompson-Eberly, and Natasha Williams are pulling out all the stops to make this a night to remember.
This year’s gala embraces the elegance of a formal event and infuses the fun of a carnival/circus atmosphere. Don your “island formal” and come out to enjoy a dinner of delicious carnival food- inspired dishes, sip breezy cocktails, and bid on silent and live auction items, while being entertained by professional stilt-walkers and fire dancers. You’ll also be able to dance to the jazzy sounds of Savannah’s Fabulous Equinox Orchestra. This will be a party like none you’ve experienced on the island! Gala tickets are $150 per person and can be purchased through ACS today.
Another highlight of the evening is the Victory Wine Raffle, featuring more than 100 varietals from some of the world’s finest vineyards. $25 raffle tickets can be purchased in advance at the ACS office, Bailey Boys, Petite Maison, and Mimi’s.
There is also a Ladies' Luncheon on September 5th, at the Club Room of the Cloister at Sea Island. This year’s luncheon will offer attendees great raffle items from Chadwick's Jewelers and other local businesses; and will feature Georgia cookbook author Gena Neeley Knox. Gena is the Author of “Gourmet Made Simple" and co-founder (along with husband Davis) of Athens-based company, Fire & Flavor, the leading marketer and producer of innovative products and concepts for preparing fresh, healthy food. Luncheon Tickets are $100 per person.
The purpose of VICTORY is to further the general goals of ACS by organizing and producing special events each VICTORY year to raise funds for ACS. The goal of VICTORY is to raise the greatest amount of money at the least expense.
