Veterans, including Joe Perry who was named Veteran of the Year, were honored at this year’s Veterans Day Commemoration Ceremony on St. Simons Island. Rear Adm. Thomas “TR” Buchanan of Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay gave an inspiring keynote address, and Bennie Williams was recognized for his many years of service leading the Council. An appreciation lunch of Southern Soul Barbeque hosted by Hospice of the Golden Isles followed the patriotic program.
